What to Expect When Coming for Your Craniosacral TherapyWhat to expect before your craniosacral therapy appointmentBefore your appointment, I will spend some time discussing your health history, lifestyle, and any current concerns.
This conversation helps shape the session and provides an opportunity to talk through your treatment aims and
goals.
What to expect during your craniosacral therapy appointmentYou will lie on a treatment table, usually on your back, fully clothed. It is ideal to wear comfortable clothing so that you can relax fully throughout the session.
The treatment environment is designed to be calm and relaxing, with low lighting and gentle music to help support relaxation.
Sessions typically last an hour. During this time, I will use a very gentle touch, less than the weight of a 5-pence piece, to assess and release areas of tension and restriction in the body.
Treatment often focuses on areas such as the head, neck, sacrum, and spine, depending on your individual needs.
What to expect after the treatmentAfter treatment, clients often report feeling lighter, calmer, more grounded, and better able to deal with stress.
Some people notice that symptoms are eased significantly and, in some cases, may disappear completely.
The healing process is not always straightforward, and each person’s response can vary depending on how long symptoms have been present and how severe they are.
For some people, treatment may trigger a natural healing reaction. This can include a temporary aggravation of symptoms, tiredness, headaches, or emotional release. These responses are often a normal sign that the body is processing and healing.
Any healing reaction would typically be expected to settle within 72 hours. If symptoms last longer than this, please
contact me.
Self-care following craniosacral therapy treatmentFollowing treatment, it can be helpful to stay well hydrated, eat a clean and healthy diet, rest or nap where needed, and include gentle movement such as walking or gentle yoga.
